Content workflow and process definition can be challenging. A well-designed set of processes can create an ecosystem that predictably delivers compliant and accessible web content, translations, and supporting assets.

That sounds like a great goal! But how much does that process cost to define, build, and maintain? What is the Return on Investment?

Using a real-world story, we will describe what a content lifecycle is, how to plan a content management process, and estimate its cost of impact - not just its cost to implement. How much can a bad process cost over time? How much time and money can a great process save?

Understanding potential process pitfalls can help an organization save time, money, and reduce human frustration. Differentiating system vs human vs technology difficulties at play within a process can focus efforts and identify the most effective changes.

This session will include useful tools and techniques including process flow diagrams, workflow costs calculators, and sample workflows. Most of the session will be spent tying the cost of impact to the complexity of the content workflow process using cost-impact analysis.

The true measure of a website’s content lifecycle success is the level of end-user satisfaction for all users supporting and benefiting an efficient web content lifecycle. From the content consumers to the multiple members of your team contributing to the web, everyone matters in an organization’s content process.
